Gauteng South has had a very busy year. There have been four workshops and a conference. Some teachers were privileged to go down the Mushroom Farm portal of the Gautrain and view the tunnels. It was an incredible experience.

The highlights of the conference were the two guest speakers. The first speaker was Alec de Jongh, the Production Manager of the South African Bank Note Company who spoke on how bank notes are produced. He included fascinating information on Banknote Printing, the Manufacturing Processes, Pure Cotton-based notes, Substrate Watermark and Fluorescent Fibre's to name but a few.

The second speaker was Johan de Lange from the Gautrain who explained how the Gautrain will enhance our lives and showed us an amazing video of the future stations and the interior of the Gautrain.

It has been a wonderful experience working with my committee and the Ekurhuleni Education Department.
