to acquire knowledge in the areas of structures, systems
and processing. Is also focuses on Indigenous Technology,
the bias and impact of Technology on the lives of people
and the environment, by teaching through the methodology
of the Design Process or Technological Processes (Investigate,
Design, Make, Evaluate and Communicate)
The Technology Association
is a professional non-profit society for teachers of
Technology.

National
Conference for Technology Educators
Monday 28th, Tuesday 29th September 2009;
Two days of vibrant interaction
with other Technology educators, presented by the Technology
Association of the Western Cape.

Report from KZN
The KZN branch of the Technology
Association had another busy year. After the National
Technology Conference in September last year, we had
a rollout programme in all the Districts in the Province,
training 4,000 Technology teachers, 2 Saturday workshops
as well as a 2 day mini-conference.

Report from Gauteng South
Gauteng South has had a very
busy year. There have been four workshops and a conference.
Some teachers were privileged to go down the Mushroom
Farm portal of the Gautrain and view the tunnels. It
was an incredible experience.

Report from Gauteng North
The team in Gauteng north have
worked very hard at meeting their commitment to members
this year. In the first term we ran a processing workshop
at Waterkloof Primary School. In the second term the
team ran two Systems and Control workshops, one at Lynnwood
Ridge Primary School and one at Reagile Primary School.
In the third term we ran a Systems and Control workshop
at Laudium Primary School.

Report from Western Cape
Mini-Conference for Technology
Teachers, held on Saturday 26 July at Herschel Girls
School, Claremont (Report by Margot Smit)
The conference started with registration at 08h00 in
the Prep School Hall. Delegates browsed through the
various exhibits by suppliers and publishers. Some learners
work was also on display. The time was well used by
all to network with colleagues over a cup of coffee.
